ACT Test Prep
FinnPREP boosts ACT scores by an average of 5 points
FinnPREP is located near ACT headquarters in Iowa City and we check in with test prep officials frequently. This is how we ensure that our students are getting the best test prep possible.
We’re proud of the success we’ve had with our ACT prep system. Teens tell us that the test-taking tips we teach help them feel ready—mentally and emotionally—for the college entrance exam. Preparation is key, which is why we prefer to start working early on with teens to identify subject area weaknesses and coach them on how to tackle tricky questions and mental blocks.
Our ACT prep is rigorous but also supportive and encouraging. Teens need to know that we’re standing with them and making sure they are 100% ready when the big day arrives.
We recommend 8 weeks to prepare for the ACT test. Summer is an ideal time to prep because students have more time to dedicate to test prep.
ACT Test Prep Method
When FinnPREP tutors begin working with your teen, they take the time to get to know them and understand their study habits and learning needs. This helps them prepare a customized ACT prep plan, including academic weak points and learning milestones. This plan is shared with teens and parents, so everyone is 100 % ready to succeed.
During one-on-one sessions with tutors, teens learn how to improve their scores in specific sections of the test and break down complex questions to find the best answer. Tutors use recent ACTs to drill teens and help them keep track of time. FinnPREP tutors will review subject matter and test-taking tips until your teen feels confident going into the exam.
Our goal is to provide you and your teen with the best ACT prep possible: the tutors they need to boost their knowledge and skills in specific subject areas, and the coaching they need to go into the exam with the right mindset. We check in with parents often to get their feedback on how their teen is managing test prep and how we can improve our tutoring services.

From Parents & Students
If you are looking for a way to help your child boost his ACT score, this is the place. My son worked had one on one tutoring sessions with Kelly. I have to admit, I was a little reluctant as I did not think there was any chance he would boost his score to the level he needed to attend his dream school. The environment was very safe and supportive. My son felt very good going into his September test after 4 private sessions. The results were an increase in 5 points. My son will now be able to attend the out of state school he has been dreaming about because he qualified for a huge scholarship. Do not hesitate to use Finn Prep. The investment is well worth it in the long run. Thanks for all your help, Kelly!
Kelly is working with my son to prepare to re-take the ACT test and to prepare for college. She has customized training lessons and techniques to maximize his learning potential. She cares about his progress and takes it personally if he is not progressing. Ben enjoys working with Kelly and I'm confident he will succeed as a result.
